Chiricahua National Monument, AZ
This is a good dark site in southeastern Arizona, and I've had two wonderful adventures to this place. It's not quite as dark as some other places I've been, but it's certainly dark enough to get some good images. The area around Massai Point is my favorite, since it has a good southern horizon view. The second photo was taken from Massai Point just a few feet from where I was set up, looking southwest. The fascinating geology of the place also makes for some excellent daytime photography and hiking, and since the area is an "island" of mountains in the Arizona desert, there are a large number of unique bird and other species within the park boundary.
